
Senior Accountant
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in managing the financial affairs of the organization. This position encompasses a range of accounting functions, including journal entry preparation, financial analysis, and process improvement. The Senior Accountant should have a strong analytical mindset and the ability to influence positive changes across the organization.

Responsibilities:
- Journal Entry Preparation and Month-End Closing: Prepare journal entries and coordinate month-end closing procedures. Review accrual accounts for adequate balances, assess the trial balance, and update the general ledger. Prepare financial statements.
- Bookkeeping: Maintain the company's system of accounts and accurately record all company transactions and assets.
- Audit Support: Assist with external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and preparing / providing information for auditors.
- Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation: Maintains and balances sub-ledger & other balance sheet accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Policy and Procedure Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend changes to policies and procedures that impact the company's financial aspects.
- Account Receivable and Payable Monitoring: Monitor all accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions and interface with the general ledger to identify necessary adjustments.
- Capitalization Calculations: Prepare and track capitalization calculations for labor, consultants, and expense reports.
- Cash Account Reconciliations: Reconcile assigned cash accounts to ensure accuracy, work with AP and AR team members to ensure all receipts and payable are posted accurately and timely.
- Asset Management: Manage Construction-in-Process and fixed asset listings, including booking depreciation entries.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the dynamic needs of the accounting team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- 2+ years of public accounting experience is required.
- Comprehensive and current understanding of financial statements, U.S. GAAP, and relevant accounting standards.
- Experience working in an emerging growth company, as well as experience in a private equity or investor portfolio company, is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations preferred).

- Data Analysis and Spreadsheet Tools Proficiency: Proficient in data analysis and spreadsheet tools, including advanced functions including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
- Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clear communication with stakeholders.
- Effective Communication: Proficient in conveying complex financial information in written and verbal formats to facilitate decision-making.
- Detail-Oriented: Meticulously attentive to detail, ensuring organized, accurate financial records.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills for efficient task management and meeting deadlines.
